Welcome to the 2019 TUgis Conference. TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

Nashid K Khadem is doing her Ph.D. in Transportation and Infrastructure studies at Morgan State University. She is also working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the National Transportation Center at Morgan State University. Her research interests are transportation engineering, autonomous vehicle, safety, human behavior and environmental issues related to transportation. Her expertise is statistical data analysis, GIS, Mapping and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). She completed her Masters from Towson University in Geography and Environmental Planning. Khadem worked as an Environmental Specialist with nearly five years of experience, developing and monitoring environment related projects, EIA, GIS related projects and on Environmental policies. She is also proficient in project management.
