Welcome to the 2019 TUgis Conference. TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

Mr. Gross is an epidemiologist at the Baltimore City Health Department. He collects, analyzes, and maps data for several youth and trauma services programs. In addition, he assists with overdose prevention and space-time analysis: https://github.com/bchd/Nonfatal-Overdose-Surveillance. He also launched the Health Department’s web map gallery (www.baltimorecity.gov/healthmaps). His background includes a master’s of public health in epidemiology from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and a graduate certificate in geographic information systems (GIS) from Johns Hopkins Advanced Academic Programs.
