Bineeta Sihota has Doctorate and master’s degrees in Geography from the Agra University, India. Her PhD thesis “Status of Basic Social Facilities and their Planning in Aligarh City (India)” is focused on the spatial distribution of Basic social facilities (including Education, Health Care, Drinking Water, Housing and Solid Waste Disposal) in Aligarh City. In last 10 years she has served many local Governments in various capacities. At present she is working with the Baltimore Department of Transportation, IT Division (BCDOT-IT) as a Project Manager. Her contribution in projects like BCDOT Comprehensive Transportation Plan, Western Baltimore County Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan, Baltimore City Bicycle Plan, Horse Shoe Casino Complete Street Study, B P Tunnel Plan, Safe Route to Schools, TowardZERO, B’More Bright, Storm Drain Inlet Inventory for Bike Routes, Project TIGER, MLK Boulevard Corridor Study, Hanover Bridge Multi Modal Study, ATVES Camera Program and DOT Map Gallery is noteworthy.
She has represented BCDOT numerous occasions at TUgis Conferences and Maryland State Surveyor Seminar. She holds active membership of TUgis Maryland Geospatial Conference, Baltimore City BITAC GIS Committee, Baltimore Region GIS Committee (BRGISC), Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC) and WTA Baltimore Chapter.
