GIS Manager
Patrick Callahan has more than 32 years working in the GIS field with 26 years working at the local government level. For the last 18 years, Patrick has led all multi-agency GIS initiatives for the Prince George's County Maryland's Office of Information Technology as the GIS Manager. He is currently the GIS lead for the County's COVID19 response providing several GIS products, tools, and analysis for the County Executive, Office of Emergency Management, Health Department, and to the public. Patrick is also involved with the redesign of the County's 311 and Customer Response Service applications, Department of the Environment's stormwater management system, and the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement's (DPIE) new permitting system.
Patrick continues to be involved with GIS in Maryland as a member of the Maryland State Geographic Information Committee (MSGIC) that works to promote coordinated development and efficient use of resources amongst all entities involved in the collection and/or use of spatial data and GIS technologies in Maryland. For the last 13 years, he as served as an executive board member, including MSGIC Chair in 2018 and Team Lead for Maryland's participation in the 2019 ArcGIS Online Competition for U.S. High Schools and Middle Schools.
Patrick graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Geography and Computer Assisted Cartography from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
