TUgis Conference 2019: Full Schedule

Welcome to the 2019 TUgis Conference. TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

Prioritizing Land Conservation for Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia

This lightning talk will present a poster and demonstrate a WebMap showing how GIS was used to prioritize land parcels for acquisition or conservation easement for the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge (RRVNWR) in Virginia. The prioritization analysis takes into account the Refuge's Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) goals. The Virginia Wetlands Catalog (VWC), a landscape scale modeling effort performed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, was used to rank each parcel within the Refuge's Limited Acquisition Boundary (LAB) by conservation value.
