Welcome to the 2019 TUgis Conference. TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

The elevation special interest group will educate, inform, and support the advancement of Maryland elevation data. Our discussion will focus on active topics in the Maryland elevation community. These are expected to include the following:

  • Elevation Portal: Updates and discussion
  • Lidar Acquisition: Status updates on lidar acquisition for Ellicott City, Howard County and Lower Eastern Shore
  • Shoreline: Discussion of elevation topics pertaining to Maryland’s shorelines, including standards: Derivation, scale, source data, and tide coordination
  • Unifying Maryland data for and making it available via NOAA CUSP
