High-Accuracy Data Collection with Esri’s Collector: Is MSL Possible? A Case Study with Greensboro NC Water Resources

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The popularity of Esri’s Collector for field data collection continues to grow, in large part because of its ease-of-use and low-cost deployment. On its own, Collector does not provide high-quality and the most accurate location data. With the shift toward Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) GNSS receivers paired with Collector, we can now efficiently capture accurate location data horizontally, but what about vertically? This presentation will detail what MSL (or Orthometric Height) is, why users need it and how Greensboro Water Resources has implemented the acquisition of MSL in their Collector deployment. There will be a particular focus on the acquisition of reliable and accurate vertical MSL values with a mapping-grade GNSS receiver.
