Communicating Everything with Anyone: Purple Line and Community Impacts Within an ESRI Story Map

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The Purple Line is a proposed 16-mile light-rail passenger line extending from New Carrollton, Maryland to Bethesda, Maryland. Once completed, the enhanced rail will not only provide expanded passenger travel to the existing Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, MARC, AMTRAK, and local bus services, but will also bring other tangible benefits to the community.

Through the use of a ESRI Story map, this presentation will provide an overview of why the application was created and explore the techniques and challenges in communicating a complex topic to the public. The presentation will close with a discussion of benefits, lessons learned, and what is on the horizon.
