TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

A panel discussion with Surveying and GIS professionals to discuss the upcoming National Geodetic Survey release of the horizontal coordinate and vertical elevation systems in 2022. It will cover what is NATRF2022 and NAPGD2022, the two new acronyms you will being seeing a lot. Why newly collected features may be 6 feet different from the same features already in your database. What are the GIS vendors doing to prepare for the change.

Alan R. Dragoo is a licensed surveyor in Maryland and was employed for 27 years by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) in Laurel, MD, where he was a geodetic project manager in charge of high precision horizontal and vertical geodetic surveying projects using GPS and classical methods in support of the WSSC Control Network. Alan also worked at Trimble Navigation for eight years as a technical support representative. He also worked for Keystone Precision Instruments for eight years as sales manager for land survey products. He currently serves as assistant survey department manager at Maser Consulting in Sterling, VA.
