Welcome to the 2019 TUgis Conference. TUgis: Maryland’s Geospatial Conference is a cooperative undertaking of three primary partners—Maryland State Geographic Information Committee, Maryland Department of Information Technology, and Towson University. TUgis is dedicated to growing and empowering the GIS community throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The annual conference connects the Maryland GIS community to new ideas and trends and offers ample opportunities to find ways to collaborate.

Elliott Plack is a senior business analyst focusing on configurable geospatial IT implementations in government at the consulting firm KCI Technologies, Inc. in Sparks, Maryland. He has been developing and using geographic information systems (GIS) since 2009. Elliott holds a Master of Science in Applied Information Technology with a focus on Information Systems Management at Towson University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Planning from Towson University as well. Elliott is a champion of the use and provision of open data in government and was appointed to the Maryland Council on Open Data by Governor Martin O’Malley in 2013. He is an honorably discharged, decorated veteran of the United States Army, having served a tour of duty in Iraq in 2010.
